A woman was injured Friday morning in Fremont after being stabbed and hit with a sledgehammer in her car.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened just after 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 23 at Palatine Ave N and N Market St.
Seattle police say the victim was a 30-year-old woman. She told officers that she had been partying with a young woman and three men in an apartment near the 900 block of N 39th St early that morning. They left the apartment in the victim’s vehicle and traveled to an alley near the 4600 block of Palatine Ave N. The victim told police that this is where the assault occurred and neighbors nearby reported hearing screams coming from the vehicle.
SPD says that when officers arrived, the victim was being treated by Seattle Fire Department medics. She appeared to have multiple stab wounds to her upper body and had a wound on her head that she said was from being hit with a sledgehammer.
According to police, the victim said she was attacked by the other woman. SPD says they believe the suspect took the victim’s car and drove away. Police later found the car a mile away at Whitman Ave N and N 39th St with the sledgehammer inside and the keys still in the ignition.
Police are still searching for the suspect and three men.
